VMI Architecture 2009 c.
VMI architecture
Robert, Senior Architect
"I am the point of contact for multiple
clients and their respective projects to
ensure that these various projects are
dealt with effectively and honestly. I
prepare design concepts as required to
be approved by the public review
agencies. I also deal with the various
entitlement entities to assure that the
interaction and approval by these many
utilities and public agencies are brought
together in a harmonious way that
maximizes the approval process and
minimizes the construction times. The
entitlement process has gotten to be a
very involved and time consuming task.
We take great pride in providing our
clients with thorough research of all the
involved items necessary to complete our
projects within budget and on time.
Review of construction documents is
another area in which my experience has
been useful, along with mentoring of
younger staff members wishing to
expand their area of knowledge in the
field of architecture. VMI provides us all
with the latest in computer aided design
tools; and follows that with a variety of
training sessions, to keep us abreast of
the latest techniques and developments
as relates to architecture and personal
development. The office is conveniently
located in the downtown San Rafael area.
The work environment is all about
providing service to our clients in a very
timely, professional manner."
Shelly, Project Coordinator
"Working for VMI in various roles since
1998, I have seen many changes as the
firm has grown from a four person staff to
sixteen, and have enjoyed the opportunity
to develop professionally and feel
appreciated as the firm has grown into a
mature entity. VMI is an enjoyable place
to work because it fosters creativity-we are
encouraged to showcase our personal
creative endeavors at regular staff
meetings. This has been an enjoyable
outlet for our super-creative staff, and a
refreshing break from our fast paced
schedule, and also serves to keep our
minds tuned up to always seek inventive
solutions to problems. VMI is exceptional
because the firm is hyper-alert to the
needs of our clients, kind of like the
Porsche of design firms. Our staff is
geared to quickly perceive potential
delays, costs, site constraints, etc., and
get to the root of the issue, often resolving
problems without needing to alarm or
disturb our clients, and consistently
carrying the "lesson learned" into
subsequent projects. Our clients come
back again and again because VMI is a
responsive, smooth running, high quality
architectural machine they can rely on.
My personal observation over the past ten
plus years is that VMI can ultimately get
just about any project built, no matter
what obstacles must be cleared."

Sandra, Production Associate
"I feel that VMI looks out for the interests of
their clients and their employees. We are
encouraged to push forward and grow. I have
learned quite a bit in the time I have been
employed here, which is what I hoped for
when joining this company. I also enjoy the
"International" atmosphere, with fellow
employees from around the globe."
Phillip, Senior Architect
"VMI is like working with a large family.
VMI puts the emphasis on employees well
being."
